geebus, has it been that long? o___o;;

so apparently, my laptop is in need of a video card transplant. for a long time the screen had these colored dotted lines at the bottom of the screen. in the past week and a half or so, it's started flashing whatever is in the top 1/20th of the screen on the bottom. and just today, the entire display has started... twitching, for lack of a better word. i looked up what could possibly be wrong, and my best bet? the video card is damaged. it needs to be replaced.

on the plus side? a video card isn't terribly expensive. my issue is that i'm not really sure how to find out what video card i should be getting. do i get a new one of the one that the laptop came with, or can i get a better one altogether? and then... how to install it? can i really do that by myself? .___.;;

*siiiiiiiiiigh* i have horrible luck with computers. also on the plus side, at least it's not completely broken beyond repair.

in other news... i am going to be cosplaying Spartoi uniform!Black*Star at the Disneyland Halloween thingy! i'm excited to run around being loud :3

stupid... messed up sleeping schedule...

so my laptop's charger has gone mad and i had to order a new one. and i've had to resort to using my sister's laptop in the meantime, since i don't want the battery running out too quick. but i'm kind of screwed for homework, since i can't exactly plug my tablet in and use flash on battery power. it'd run out too fast, and that is, of course, a no-no.

also, Tim is awesome for lending me his 360 again, but it looks like he forgot to put Tales of Vesperia back in the case. i shall have to remind him, silly boy. ; 3;

aaaaand on another note. the old posts on

fm_edelric and all related journals and comm posts were amusing me hardcore this evening. i like to think my RPing skills have improved since that time, though i do sorely miss getting Ed tortured and messed up. it's... kind of sad that i wanna do stuff like that again. also- seriously, why on earth did i ever think that journal name was clever. it's so... meh. XD;;; it feels like i was using that journal a very long time ago, but- 3 years... technically isn't that long ago. i hope everyone's still doing well. i miss you guys :3

... okay it's 2:20AM, which means BED TIME. *fatterwacks it to sleep*

i've had this new laptop for a few months. since about march, i think. and it's been beautiful, runs amazingly, great graphics, all that good stuff.

today while i'm doing stuff, it tells me there's a windows update, so it was time to restart. so i try to finish up what i'm doing and then go ahead and restart. i take a break and go to the bathroom while it does this.

when i come back and the desktop loads, something is horribly. horribly. wrong.

there are things missing from the desktop. just, you know... shortcuts, folders, that stuff. missing for some reason. and then i also notice that a couple of startup items haven't started up. and then i notice that the audio is out. and apparently so is the internet.

i grab my mom's laptop, research the internet error message because that at least is something i can pinpoint and try to fix. reinstalling programs is less of a problem: i need the computer itself to be functional.

i find some solutions. try them. and i get nothing.

the only thing i can think is wrong is that the windows update got corrupted or- something. which probably means that my last chanceis reinstalling the OS. isn't that fantastic.

~~ugh. JUST- UGH. IS A WORKING COMPUTER SO MUCH TO ASK FOR? I MEAN REALLY. COME ON.~~

SO. OKAY. here's what happened.

i found another solution and decided to try it. but it required going into safe mode, so i force shut down the computer in that way you're not supposed to (ehehe -__-;;) so that i'll get the option to safe mode.

but i get distracted while the computer's restarting and so it doesn't go into safe mode. i panic, so i shut it off in the middle of starting it up.

this apparently caused an error. which freaked me out.

so this window pops up and is like "we can fix it, but give me a minute or two." and i'm like "meh, sure whatever."

the computer did a system restore on itself. something i wanted to do before, but couldn't because i couldn't get to the freaking control panel.

when it starts up again, it's fine. FINE. as though NOTHING HAD HAPPENED.

I WAS SO HAPPY, I WANTED TO KILL MY LAPPY.

that is all. *rolls out*

so. i like. just realized? i haven't put up a post since otakon. i even promised a part 2 to that report... WHOOPS. i wonder where that went. >_>

a-anyways... AT LEAST I'M ALIVE. this is good! i've been like, distracted. by various shiny objects that i won't name. ...okay i'll name one. cookies. yes, the cookies distracted me.

okay, i'll seriously name one... this was only just recent, but it had me flailing around for a few days... my computer had a virus. it had this *@&#)(ing virus that wouldn't go away. i downloaded several different anti-virus software (i made sure each one was an actual, legit one before getting it) and i swear, NONE of them could do it. they could detect the virus, but they couldn't make it go away. so i was searching the webz for help, which was difficult because the virus would be like "OMG POP UPS! 8D OMG SLOW WEBZ YEAH THAT PAGE DOESN'T WORK SO HARDYHARHAR~" but eventually... i triumphed over evil.

GOOD > EVIL.
ME > COMPUTER VIRUS.
that's right. hellz yeah.

so my computer is like, spotless now. and it had better as all hell stay that way, or there will be one very angry me on the loose in the streets of LA. we're talking insane computer store raids here with chantings of "me want Macbook NAO BETCHES". ...but- nothing to worry about at the moment. i'm cool. i'm chiiiiillll~~~

oh oh oh, other updates. uhhhhhhhh... (1) still fixing Edward Elric cosplay. <_< belt hurts our feelings, but i think i figgered it out, so YAY~ (2) i made like. 5000 arts since my last update. and one flash video. but i think you've all seen those by now. XP (3) all my manga are exploding off the charts. FMA. FMA, OMFG, man. and a bonus to an FMA manga that OOZES AWESOME?? IT'S GETTIN ANIMATED. in April 2009, hellz yeah, i'm excited liek WHOA. (4) BOLT IS AN AWESOME MOVIE GO WATCH IT NOW PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

(5) i passed all my classes in school this quarter! go me~

i'm happy, i have a new laptop! :D i no longer have to deal with the crap! wheeee!

oh man... i'm leaving manila in less than a week... i'm gonna be really horribly jet lagged when i get back. i stayed here for a little over 2 months!! on the plus side, i guess i won't really be missing the schizo weather over here. the rain kept waking me up last night 'cause it would get really hard and loud for about 15 seconds and then calm down again. i'm a light sleeper, that sorta thing wakes me up.

yeah, i guess i'm gonna miss it in a way. it has been home to me for a good portion of my life. :)
man, i am gonna miss the prices for food... aarrrggghhh... T_T
and i'm gonna miss movies that have no commercials on TV...

oh well... i'll deal with it. :) no big! i hardly watch TV anyway when i'm in the states. ...no clue why... i just watch anime over the internet.

aaaaargh, i wake up far too early for someone on vacation!! T_T

the one thing that i truly utterly hate about being in manila is the fact that no matter what i do, i cannot seem to wake up any later than 7am. today was an especially bad case... i have no idea what time i woke up, i just know that it was caused by my parents preparing to go to work. they left the house before 7:30, which probably means i was awake by 6:45 at the latest... kinda depressing... i wish my body had the ability to oversleep, but i guess years of early bird programming will do that to you... on the plus side, that's about half an hour later than it was during high school! ^_^;;

... i've never used the computer this early, which is kinda depressing me... i'm sleepy, but i know that i can't go back to sleep... arrrgh, i hate my biological clock...

oh, oh, computers! i may get a new laptop! huzzah! someone offered my dad a brand new laptop for $1000 and he's asking me if i want it. i'm supposed to go to his office later today to check it out and give it a "test run", see if i want it... unfortunately, all this talk of new laptops got me into the mood of checking out possibles, and i now definitely know what sort of laptop i want! i want a tablet PC.
hell yeah. i like the idea of being able to draw directly into my computer. that'd be very nice. but the laptop being offered to my dad isn't a tablet, which is... sad for me, i suppose. my sister supports the idea of me getting a tablet pc (she found one online for $1100 and is telling me to ask for that one instead)... at the moment, i kinda just want a better laptop than the hand-me-down i've been using for the past year... like i said before, it works just fine, but it'd be nice to have something new and all my own. :)

so... i'm pretty excited to try out that new laptop. still gonna ask my dad about the tablet type, but i guess i don't mind too much either way.

oh man, i'm sleepy... and i'm all out of Bleach manga to wake me up... T_T

it's all fixed, sure, that's all very good and nice, and i did manage to recover quite a lot of files... just had to dive into the internet and track down a buncha stuff that i downloaded...
but guess what?

my audio driver and my modem must be reinstalled.

the CD for this is back in Walnut, CA.

oh, bloody brilliant.
this just means that i'm going to have to wait until i return to SoCal before i can actually hear any sound coming out of that computer, aside from the whirring fan and the odd beeping noise it makes when i try to scroll down on a file that cannot scroll any more than it already has.
that last bit i only discovered a few hours ago.

so for now, i must use the crap to use the internet and use my flash drive to transfer everything i do onto the desktop. which tends to take quite a while since it can only hold 256MB total and about 100MB is already used... stuff i don't think is safe to be deleted.
and then of course, my tendency to want to download KH videos is not good, because those videos range from about 50-200MB. bad kara, wanting to prepare for video making when it cannot presently be done. shame. shaaaame.

alas... my poor laptop. i knew it well.

and i abused it. poor thing. i'm sorry for crashing the hard drive.

i seriously am. now i have to find that CD with Photoshop on it, as well... damn.

HOLY CRAP! THIS MOUSE IS AWESOME! (i'm in an internet cafe... -_-;;) i should get a mouse like this for my desktop... it's much smoother. the mouse i have always halts at the same position of the screen and needs to be hit several times before it works again. although, that computer is damn old... so that makes sense, doesn't it?

okay, gah, i'm rambling again, so i'm gonna stop. :)

i am deeply saddened by the (temporary) loss of my precious laptop. i don't know what an "IDE Error #0" is, but i hope it can be repaired without losing any of the data in my hard drive. i have a crap load o' videos and all these programs that i went through great pains to get installed on there, and if i lose it all i think i will cry.

i dropped it off at my dad's office for their technical department to look at. it's nice being the daughter of the company president. the perks are great. *evil grin*

and my cousin just showed me an ad someone put up for their Nintendo DS (i still don't have one 'cause i'm still poor and i consumed my birthday money on Kingdom Hearts 2). P5,500 isn't half bad. that's like, $110. used, but it comes with a case or something, and it's still pretty much mint condition. i'm thinking aboiut contacting the guy. still not sure about that, though.

gotta remember to bring my GBSP back to the states to sell to Electronics Boutique. probably won't get a whole lot for it (it's an old model, after all, and is kinda scratched up), but it still works fine. i might still have the box for it somewhere, too. if i can't get more than $25 for it, i'm gonna be sad, though. i'll sell it, but i'm still gonna be a bit disappointed. oh, also have a GameCube game i'm lookin' to sell. i feel sorta bad, since it was a gift, but i don't really play it that much... at all. i'm sure someone else will enjoy it. i wish them all the best.

and sheesh... my sister has been showering me with the details of her fantastic new job at Disney. i still have no idea what her actual job is, but she gets to do so much cool stuff during the day! she says she's gonna take me to work one day, just to draw something for her on the board in the middle of the office. they tell everyone to draw something on it, and my sister was apparently not happy with the cat that she drew. if i get the chance, i'm going to raid the board with drawings of Sora. probably dressed up as a bunch of different Disney characters. i've been doodling a lot of those all over my notebooks. :P i think my favorite is Sora in Mickey Mouse gear. he's got the hat, and a short sleeved black shirt, and then big red shorts with those big white buttons. he gets to keep his shoes and gloves. those are pretty Mickey Mouse reminiscent to begin with.

hehehe... i'm going to raid Disney with anime characters. how happy is that?

think they'll offer me a job when i'm through? XD

oh bloody hell, this computer is a crap. not a piece of crap, mind you. it's like, actual crap. it's old. we should put it to sleep. XD
at least the internet works.

i miss my laptop. Firefox is a much better browser than IE.
