so. like. FANIME WAS FUN-TIMES. even though we seriously didn't do a whole lot outside of artist alley. and the one time we considered it, we knocked out in the room before the thing actually started. :3a;;;
so now you all get the quickest run down of the con EVER.
thursday:
SINGING IN THE CAR IS ALWAYS FUN. especially when it's to Disney music.
friday:
PICKING UP PK AND THEN ARTIST ALLEY. and poor attempt at Ranma cosplay, which was eventually switched out for Ed. i made friends by chasing Jimmy around the artist alley for pulling my hair. i apparently have a new bruvver-thing? also, i picked a fight with either Rough Nut or Tough Nut from How to Train Your Dragon. :> it only ended because i didn't want to crush their awesome-looking shield with my boots. so i totally won that, dammit. <_<
... i don't even remember what happened after that. at some point my hair was chopped off. :3
saturday:
MOAR ARTIST ALLEY! 8D and... i don't think we cosplayed anything. but that was okay because I HAD SHORT HAIR and it was exhilarating. *3* AND i had a moustache~ also, Davie makes an epic Vega. i got a hug. i swear the top of my head is level with his nipple. it was awkward, but sweet. :3
also, WHY SO MANY RANDOM RANMA COSPLAYERS. and WHY DOES EVERYONE COSPLAY MY FANDOM WHILE I'M NOT. O.o;;
sunday:
EEVEELUTIONS. OMG SO MANY PICTURES WERE TOOKED OF US. i also saw some friends from my old university (
spwinkles and
kate_andy , I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH) in their Princess Tutu cosplay, which was random, but amazing. :D
i also had some personal drama, but that was eventually settled.
monday:
hoooooooly crap last day. >_O so much hectic packing in the morning! and then random Caesar appearing during Artist Alley cleanup, which required glomping of that bearded lady. :3 i just found out today that he and his roomies must've set some kind of record for damage payments on their room. miscellaneous beer and alcohol stains on the sheets, as well as vomit stains and who knows what else... they had to cough up $2000. ._____.;;
EPIC DRIVE DOWN WAS EPIC. MOAR DISNEY SINGINGS WERE HAD.
BUT ANYWAYS. the cosplaying was super fun, even if we generally didn't leave the artist alley at all. xD so i wanna do more cosplay stuff! Panda said she's trying to make a Tsubaki cosplay, which made me go "I'LL BE YOUR BLACK*STAR" and now i'm looking for good wigs and stuff for that. also, i still want a Sora costume to derp around in. >_>;; someday. SOMEDAY. also! Jen and the sisters and Panda and everybody did well at the artist alley! moneys was made!! which was super exciting. and i feel quite compelled to participate in artist alley next year. :3
oh- speaking of next year! i promised zully that i'd do the artist alley booth with her, because i know zilch about business stuff and she knows lots. plus, it's an awesome excuse to sit around and do almost nothing with her for like. 8 hours straight. XD with how rarely she gets to come visit, i've gotta take advantage of it, y'know?? and some of my other friends apparently wanna come next year too, so- who knows? i mean, it's still an entire year away....
...
sob, i already miss it :C

baaaaaaabieeeeeeees
May. 30th, 2009 02:29 pmeeeeeeee I know I should probably do a famine update but...... I'm at my cousin's house for her daughter's birthday... Her youngest baby is adooooooooooorable!!!! I-I keep playing with her and letting her hold my hand... Her hands are so tiny!!!!! I LOVE HER OMGGGGGGGGG
She was born late, so she has a bunch of health problems, but... She's tuff! She just hit the year mark and is waaaaaaaay underweight (about half the weight she should be) but I believe in her ability to survive!!! ... She has a good grip for a babeh, btw. O.O
So kyoot! I'd hug her if I didn't think that'd break her. :3
Okay. Quick fanime update just because... I had so much fun. Even though I got sick at the end there. It was my first time here, an duuuuuuuuude omg I would totally do it again. Next year's masquerade will win something? We hope??? Can that be our goal???
Piktars later!! ... Wh-when I has camera again. *is such a genius* -______-;;

OTAKON 2008 REPORT!
Aug. 15th, 2008 06:24 amSO!! my first time at Otakon was a smashing, very much AWESOME success of a trip. and now i come bearing pictures of the trip!!
we left from San Diego airport at some hideously early hour and got to Baltimore in the afternoon on Wednesday. we found Mama-Manda in the airport, and so she joined our party and we became a group of 8. then we had to take a shuttle out to our hotel, which was a pretty nice, short trip. no complications there, outside of the fact that we had to like, pay. which was sad for us poor people. but anyways, got to our hotel and checked in... we had one room for like... 8 people, at first. and it was a tiny ass room. i actually wasn't able to stay at the hotel that first night, 'cause my sister came and got me so i could go to church in the morning (she bought me dinner too, which was MMMMM DELICIOUS *drool*), but from what i heard they did successfully squish 8 people in there.which really is quite impressive, considering. o_o

Pre-Otakon!
Aug. 6th, 2008 09:24 pmSO!!! currently, i'm at my sister's place in Washington DC, because i have to go to church tomorrow morning, BUT. it's still a big deal that i'm even on the east coast right now! so here's the rundown so far:
Lady arrived in LA on Sunday morning, and in the afternoon she and her relatives grabbed me on their way down to Escondido/Temecula/San Diego area, where Jenali lives. i've only ever talked to Lady online before, so it was really exciting to see her. i was worried about her for a while, 'cause she said she'd grab me noonish - afternoonish, and when noon came and went without a word i got concerned that maybe something had happened to her. turned out that she was just asleep (jet lagged, comin' in from Australia and all) and we headed down together at around 4:30. i luuuuuuuuuvs Lady, by the way. she's awesome fun. :3 we talked about all kinds of random crap in the car, just whatever came to mind, and seriously, i luvs her~
but anyways, we headed down to Jenali's place, where i tackled her pets. because omg fat kitties and hamus, do want. XD they're just so damn cute!! and fat!! and LAKNVLAECL;AOWA LUFF. <3 we had to take them to her parents' place so they could be looked after while we were all at Otakon, but we also figured we'd just chill over there while we were at it. so we did, and we whittled the time away just hanging out and talking and watching old Disney movies. it was a whole lot more fun than it sounds, believe me. we took Lady to eat at Outback, where she was like "this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong~" and we just laughed... her and her Aussie pride. :3 and when we hit wee hours of the morning, we went to Denny's to get like... milkshakes and dessert.
we ended up going to sleep at like... 8 am. which was epic, for me. XD we spent the next day going around for cosplay stuff (yep, i've been pulled into the cosplaying thing, too~ <3 exciting!!), going to costume shops and Wal-Mart and stuffs... and i was helping Jen and Lady out with their masquerade skit! i really love the way theirs is going, it's just so cute. :P we spent Tuesday pretty much the same way... except we all fell asleep a lot earlier than 8 am. we fell asleep at like... 10. and then we all woke up at 3:30am, were like "hey, i'm hungry" and went to Denny's for breakfast. XD did some more last minute cosplay/skit prop shopping, and then headed back to Jen's place (we spent every night in her parents' house before that :P) to pack up our things and get ready to go. we also met up with a bunch more people who were leaving with us, friends of Jen's and her roommates'.
which takes us to... this morning! even though it feels like it was last night. we pretty much did not go to sleep. the flight was at 6:30am, so we're like, okay get there early, and since San Diego is still some ways away from Temecula, we decided we'd head out at around 2am. we get to the airport at 2:45 (how about that :P)... and it turns out we can't even check in until 4:30. soooo, we kill time in the airport by hanging around and playing with our DSs. because we're awesome like that. hell yeah. :3
other than that... flight went smoothly. went from San Diego to Atlanta, which arrived slightly later than planned, so getting from that plane to the next one that went to Baltimore was a little hectic. we all tried to get in some proper sleep on the plane rides, some of us more successful than others. buuuuuuuuuut, arrival in Baltimore worked out great. we found Manda in the airport at the baggage claim, and we all headed to the hotel together via Super Shuttle. i had to leave them temporarily for the sake of church things, but i'll be back with them tomorrow morning. :P but that's cool, 'cause i've kinda missed my big sister and it's good seeing her again. family's important, y'know? but they also understand that i wanna hang out with my friends, too, so they're getting me back to them ASAP. ^.^
tomorrow, we're supposed to meet up with EVEN MOAR PEOPLE, for which i am quite the excited. and then actual Otakon starts on Friday, so that's EEEEEEVEN MOOOOAAAAAR exciting!! 8D i totally cannot wait~~
well anyways. that's enough outta me! i'll put up a big thing with PICTURES once the whole thing's actually over and done with. :3 g'night for now, guys!

Anime Expo 2008!
Jul. 7th, 2008 05:56 pmI FINALLY GOT TO GO TO AN AX. AND THAT MAKES ME VERY HAPPY. 8D
now, i know that it probably wasn't as good as previous years or whatever, but i'm just happy that i got to go. :D
so i went with Jenali and her roomies. they drove up from San Marcos, and originally they were gonna make my apartment the home base of operations during the con... but then we were like "okay, parking is impossible and it's really much too hot to walk from the parking place to the thing in costume" so we found a really cheap hotel nearby (across the street! we were all amazed it still had available rooms!) and checked in there. and- oh wait, i'm getting ahead of myself.
man, i really wish i had pictures... especially of that guy who Rickrolled everyone in the hall. XD
SO ANYWAY. that was my first Anime Expo! 8D i have nothing to compare it to, and i was just really excited to be there, so i dunno how good or bad it was. but i liked it anyway. ^.^ next con i go to, I'LL HAVE A MORE COMPLETE ED COSPLAY. and that makes me sublimely happy! 8D
and now... i'm tired. XD update = DONE.

ehe. eheheheh. apparently i never update anymore. OOPS. >_>
anyways!! let's try this updating thing out right now, shall we?
last quarter: despite the crazy as all hell schedule that i was stuck with and being on campus from sun up to sun down, it was a really good quarter. it helps to have crazy friends to pass the time with. literally from 1 to 4, we'd be watching anime stuff, or forcing each other to work on animation things. mostly watching anime. mostly giggling like the bunch of insane people that we are over Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged. :P
classes were good. the mid term we had for Animation history was like, RIDICULOUSLY EASY... he practically gave us the answers in the multiple choice sections. no joke. the actual animating class was quite fun! one day i'll upload my project to YouTube or something so people can see my ridiculous 1 minute ghetto anime-style thing. XD one of these days, i shall. ...really! promise~ as for life drawing... well, it's life drawing. XD lots of nude people. i am now apparently fully accustomed to seeing nude figures of every variety. and i do mean every variety. and computer graphics... meh. i totally skipped the last week of class because i got sick and my project was gonna end up horribly horribly late anyway, soooo... ^_^ ohoho. i e-mailed him and gave him the nice version of "i'm sick and stressed and i don't got time to go to class and give you my project on time. will e-mail it later. DEAL WITH IT."
i still got good grades. WOO!
classes for this quarter... well, i just added 2 yesterday, which means i missed the first day for one of them. so it's Computer Grafix pt2, Animation pt2, Advanced 2D Art, and Cultural Emotion. i'm very curious about that last one. it sounds like it has potential to be a hit-or-miss class. a little worrisome, but eh. the schedule's infinitely better than last quarter, so all is well on that front. no more waking up between 5 and 5:30 (THANK. GOD.). and there's nothing occupying Wednesday nights... so if i get my driver's license before like, the end of May, i might be able to make visits to Chapman again!! XD dahh, i really hope i do. this should be incentive for me to practice more and take the damn driver's test already...
hmmmmm... other news. got to play video games over my week-long break! moar Tales of the Abyss!! and i swear, that game affects me way too much. twice now i've started crying while playing that game. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP DYING ON ME. DEHHH. but i will have my revenge yet. very nearly finished with the game~ just doin' fun sidequest things now. getting costumes so that everyone'll look really funny while fighting the big bad boss. XD
mangas
Naruto: WAAAAAAAAAH. holy crap. another one of the longest fights ever. :P
D.Grayman: WAAAAAAAAH. people need to go and KICK SOME ASS. >D
Bleach: FOR. THE. LOVE. OF. CRAP.
Ouran HS Host Club: WHY HIKARU. WHYYYYY?!?!?!
Fullmetal Alchemist: OOOOOOOOOMG I'M IN LOVE AGAIN~
and i've been reading a whole bunch of other mangas ever since i found fellow crazy people to hang out with in school. i borrow series from them, and they're all SO GOOD/FUNNY. ummm... i've been looking at Love Attack, Heaven, Mars, Getbackers, Guidance Club (i want MOAR, why is volume 2 nonexistant?!), Zombie Loan, finished off both anime and manga of Pretear, currently pulling myself through Slayers Next and TRY, probably gonna start Eyeshield 21 soon, just might get into the Yu-Gi-Oh manga... there's probably more that i can't remember right now. XD but yes. lots of anime goodness~
hmmmm. can't think of anything else to say! oh, for anybody who reads my silly epic fanfic, there has been some progress in iteven though i totally fail at writing for Snape!! HUZZAH. and speaking of silly things... i put up a silly thing on YouTube, but i am stil working on it to make it longer. so more on that when it's nearing completion. :P
.... yeah. okay i'm done now!! on with your lives, you lovely people you~ ^_^

oh, hi. :P
Jan. 30th, 2008 08:05 amso five million and a half years later, i update my LJ. aren't i just so on top of things.
and here's a school update:
the classes are actually pretty fun. amazingly enough, says the girl who hates all things relating to school. and it's even better 'cause i actually know at least one person in all of my classes. so i have friends! it's amazing!wow i'm pathetic but at any rate, the classes are as follows: Intro to Computer Graphics (in which we muck around with Photoshop and stuff all day), Animation History (in which we watch cartoons all day), Life Drawing (in which we draw nekkid peoplez all day), and Intro to Animation (in which we actually make pictures move all day). it's a lot of work, but they're lots of fun.
the only downside to having these cool classes? their insane schedules. i have to wake up at ungodly hours of the morning to get to campus on time. Computer Graphics and Animation History are scheduled for bloody 8 in the morning, so on the days i have those i have to be up by like 5:30 and be gone from the apartment around 6:15ish, depending on whether or not i'm willing to put up with high schoolers when i get to Union Station. if i'm not, i gotta leave earlier. what a trade off. so yeah. and then the other two classes are scheduled to start at 4:20 (and go on until hours between 6 and 8). so i'm literally doing nothing and just hanging around campus from 10:30 to 4 everyday. good thing i know people to hang out with. XP
i need to start driving and get my license or something. must.. make it... to... club... >_<
in other news. i went with said friends to Little Tokyo and perused the anime shops~ there were all these plushies and manga and hats and bags... there were these hilarious Ed and Al hats (Ed's would've been absolutely perfect if it had the braid and the antenna.. Al's, i loved XD) and loads of Naruto hats, and Mario hats, and Sonic and Shadow hats... they were adorable, i loved them. and i totally succumbed to the power of the store, and i ended up buying an Ed plushie and an FMA handbag thing.so unhealthy the obsession >_> didn't get any manga due to lack of monetary funds, so that was probably a good thing. we also went to the arcade and hung around there for a little while... heh, we're such geeks...
hmm. i should probably focus on class. XP someday i will elaborate on the east coast trip. but for now, back to mucking around with computers~

Al's, i loved XD) and loads of Naruto hats, and Mario hats, and Sonic and Shadow hats... they were adorable, i loved them. and i totally succumbed to the power of the store, and i ended up buying an Ed plushie and an FMA handbag thing.
hmm. i should probably focus on class. XP someday i will elaborate on the east coast trip. but for now, back to mucking around with computers~
LOLOLOLOL bwah
Oct. 30th, 2007 11:38 amdon't ask me what the deal with that line is, i just... i'm just odd. ^_^ i'm tired. WHEEEEEEEE SCREEN WRITING CLASS FTW. hasn't started yet. it probably will in a second, but bah, we r waiting.
so ANYWAY. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS IS FUNNY FUN TIMES. i went with my sister and her friend who was visiting, and then some other friends so there were like, 6 of us. yay! and it was fun, y'know, scaring ourselves and stuff... but like OMG IT WAS SOOOO BLOODY CROWDED. there were like, 50 billion gazillion oodles oodles of LOL people LOL everywhere. it took half an hour to get into the park through the security check point. gah. gahgahgah.
but once you were actually inside it was fun again. ^_^ because Universal Studios is just so, like, GRAND about it, and it's all movies and whatnot and it's like AAAHHH JASON/MICHAEL/FREDDY/LEATHERFACE/CHUCKY/*INSERT CHILDHOOD TRAUMA SCARY HORROR MOVIE KILLER GUY HERE* DON'T KILL ME DON'T TOUCH ME STAY THE EFF AWAY. though i try not to let them see if they're scaring me. i will flinch, and then look them in the eye and be like "you cannot SCARE me with your chainsaw, no you cannot"... it's loads of fun, though. it's cool, 'cause like, - oh class is starting - it's very immersive and stuff. almost all the lights are out, and there's fog everywhere, and the zombies and stuff? they're like, ACTORS. they are really into it. they are in character, whatever their character is, and they don't break. i thanked one of the Scarface zombies for taking a picture with us once, and he was like "'thank you'?! get outta here, you're too nice for me, go on" and i was just like XD
so anyway. Universal Studios. FUN TIMES. ^_^ Freddy Kreuger scared my one friend so bad (he popped outta the boiler right behind her and practically had his head on her shoulder, claws hovering in front of her face) that she screamed at the very top of her lungs, ran at me, grabbed me, and practically slammed me in the opposite wall. it was hilarious. made my night and woke me up, 'cause it was like 1:45 am at the time. XD
and Bill and Ted? i will always have a soft spot for them. especially with the way they made fun of Spider-man 3, Heroes, and Britney Spears. and hey, i love Heroes, but... you know. parodies are always fun. ^_^
heeheehee.
in other news.... i'm gonna try for another Chapman trip this week! i'm gonna try anyway. i wanted to go last week for the party, but with my sister's friends dropping in for a visit, things got a little complicated. i thought it was gonna work, but i was totally proven wrong. T-T so this week, gonna try for it! heehee...
okay, time to pay attention to stuff happenin in class. adieuuu~

LOL HOSTAGE LOL
Oct. 17th, 2007 03:17 pmokay, because i am slow and ridiculous like this. i really should've posted this sooner but, yeah. i fail. XP anyways!
I LOVE CHAPMANITES~ ♥
Anime Club last Thursday night was fun as always! we're such terrible, terrible people for making fun to Death Note (L's "SHINIGAMI WHUT?" reaction still cracks me up) and Fullmetal Alchemist ("lol hostage lol", "gtfo my shoulder") but it's all in good fun. Light, L, Edward, we love you guys~ i'm a little sad that FMA won't get to continue, but oh well, right? i've seen it all... and it was dubbed, so that was kinduva downer. i mean, i like the dub fair enough, but there are still the odd complaints in various... many... places throughout. like NINA. good Lord, who casted that voice for her? >_< but randomly shouting "LOL (insert random item on screen here) LOL" throughout the FMA episodes was still fun.
aside from that, i am always going to love visiting them crazy Chapmanites. i can't even fully explain how much fun it is being around you guys, and you all know how awesome you are, so i don't have to get into it. right? right. ^_^
but i so procrastinated while i was over there. *shakes fist at Chelsea* we really should've worked on that script we're writing but gah, we are so made of fail. and Extreme Ghostbusters (which i have addicted her to, BWAHAHA) and Gargoyles and other miscellaneous 90's cartoons were distracting us for a good hefty portion of the day. agrah. digression. digression and procrastination, two things of which we must all be aware. ...pity that they can be such good fun.
and Amy and Caitlin!!! ♥ Kingdom Hearts costumes at the DCA for the win. once again, i am made of colossal fail so i only saw the pictures like, JUST NOW, i'm pathetic but i totally keysmashed and giggled madly over those pictures. especially Riku with the VILLAINS. LOLOLOL THEY HAS AN EVIL DARKNESS. i'm going to comment spam Amy's post later when i'm not in class. XP
but yeah, while procrastinating we would also go pester Amy and Caitlin because they are awesome and we love them. have some more html hearts guys~ ♥♥♥♥♥ (i like using those things now that i know how)

i has a times o' busy-ness
Aug. 11th, 2007 07:53 amyes, i is slowly turning into macro kitty the longer i stays at home and get consumed by the interwebz. i just get weirder and weirder and weeeeirderrr... consider yourself warned. read on, if you so dare.
SO. anyways! i know i'd been planning on talking about Comic Con at some point or another but that never happened... okay, so just quickly! IT WAS FUN. PHOTOS OF AMY/SORA AND JACK SPARROW AND RANDOM DISNEY STATUETTE THINGS FOR THE WIN. i would like to take Amy to Disneyland in her full garb and force them to hire her to run around the park dressed like Sora. just because. it'd be fun. though she'd have to run away from anybody that tries to talk to her because... well, unfortunately her voice is a dead give away. AND AND OOH. JOHNNY YONG BASCH DESU~. and, and RANDOM HANGING OUT-NESS with Amy and Caitlin is teh fun times, muchly. i kid you not. i am so, so serious. ^_^
okay moving on. this week, and possibly over the course of the next week, things are happening. and this is a good thing, seriously. because i probably need to get out of the apartment more often these days.
Amy and people are plotting some sort of trip to the Happiest Place On Earth, which will happen... some time this month, details on that are very sketchy indeed. BUT. it will happen! i hope!
and then Becca and her brother (yay for new friends!) are coming down into the SoCal area for the week! hanging out-ness might happen there, too, we are still plotting and there will maybe be MOAR DISNEYLANDS which is totally fine by me. ^_^ *such a Disney geek, agraaahhh omg* though that trip to Disneyland would require the 2-Hour Bus Ride of DOOM from Union Station, unless we somehow convince somebody to drive us there and pick us up again later.
and then there's Friday. ohhhhh maahhhh gaaahhhhd. on the 17th, and i have been plotting this for a while! on the 17th, i am taking the Metrolink rail thing alll the waaay down to Oceanside, near San Diego. why, you ask? because i have intent to meet with a friend of mine. :) i call her P-chan (it's a Ranma thing, long story short), and this is how we will refer to her. i promised her and her boyfriend and her friends that i'd go meet them and hang out, at least for a day, and i am standing by this promise! the only issues are that i am gonna have to get my ass to Union Station before 8 so i can get down there by 10ish, and then if i can't stay overnight i'm gonna have to depart at like, 6pm. which would kinda suck, but yeah.
man... the things i do for my friends. ^_^ (i love you guys!)
in other news, my eldest sister is moving to D.C. on Monday, to go get her masters in business school. O_O it's gonna be very bizarre not having her around anymore... though at the same time, this means me and my other sister will be able to cover the walls in movie posters (we have like, 3 Meet the Robinsons posters that require posting ASAP) and other miscellaney fun decors! and be as messy as we like. it'll be fun. XD
and in still other news... *stabs school stuff* CSULA required classes stuff is EVIL and DRIVES ME INSANE. i'm gonna have to talk to a counselor or something because man, this school is just nuckin' futs with the GEs. and i'm really upset that i cannot continue taking Japanese at all because if i do i'm gonna take another 8 damn years before i graduate... i'm starting to wonder if i should transfer to a less complicated school. i liked Chapman. i wonder if i can puppy dog eyes/guilt trip my parents into letting me go back... i seriously doubt it, but i will try anyway!! ^_^;;
i will end this post with something random... Hairspray is a very fun happy cheerful bouncy musical movie.
*fin*
i've decided that my sleepiness probably has something to do with this bout of crazy. ...oh well.

Vacation Times!
Jun. 8th, 2007 06:48 am*does the amazingly happy happy dance* SCHOOOOOOOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!
and so now, there is VACATIONS to be had, and this is going to be awesome. :) though... well, with my parents here, they're gonna wanna do a lot of stuff that is very likely to frustrate me one way or another. but i'm still gonna try to make the best of it. my sister scheduled some kinda weirdo cruise for us to go on this weekend, so i will be gone and in Mexico or something for a couple days. should be back on Tuesday or something.
but blaaargh. it's not exactly something i'm really psyched about or even just looking forward to. maybe that makes me weird, but i'm just not the sort of person that likes traveling for the sake of traveling. like, i wanna go to Japan to shop and see stuff and feel like a lost anime character. Mexico... holds nothing of interest for me. my sister also wants to go to Europe this summer, and while i think that's kinda cool or whatever, it's still kinda like... i don't mind if we don't go, either. (that's mostly a lot of walking and sight seeing, i think... not too crazy about that. what would we actually do there apart from pose in front of big historical landmarks and take pictures?) what can i say? i like staying home to do just short of nothing.
in other news... there are quite a few of us in my church... that want to go to AX. XD so we're all trying to figure something out, and one of my friends is like "you wanna dress up?? we gotta start working on costumes now if we're gonna dress up!" and i'm like "AAAAAH BUT WHAT WILL WE WEAR?!" (said exactly like that, btw XP) we also don't know what day we'd go... most likely Saturday. ...i still have to convince my parents to let me. dammit. :P baaahhhh, let me have my fun, parents, you forced me into Mexico!!
outside of all that...
*ahem* so... yeah, that's about it. yaaaay for summer times!!
GASP. I WILL HAVE TIME FOR VIDEO GAMES! so many RPGs yet to finish! *dances*

Sun, Surf, and... Balloons?
Jun. 3rd, 2007 03:26 pmso yesterday, i was at the beach.
to be honest, i really should've stayed home to like, study for finals or work on my ecorche or write my sociology paper... but going to the beach promised to be so much more fun. and what can i say? i like having fun. it takes priority in my life over like, everything else. so... buwahaha. :P
so yes! beach. it was actually this um, clean-up thing that we were doing with a bunch of people from our church. just something we wanted to do. so like, we had this Heal The Beach rep telling us the do's and don'ts of cleaning the beach. you know... if you find a needle (a syringe) in the sand, don't pick it up, call a lifeguard ('cause they don't want us getting diseeeeeeased)... if you find a dead animal, don't touch it, call a lifeguard and they'll call the animal people (once again: diseeeeeease)... pick up as much trash as you can and whoever has the most full bags wins. :P so we set out!! and this goes on from... 9 in the morning to 11 in the morning. :) yaaaaay! and then once we're done with that, the funstuffs begins!
it was very peculiar to us that it was like, immensely cloudy in the morning, but then once we were done the sun started to come out. and stayed out for quite a while. :P
so then we trek to a different part of the beach where you're allowed to play with lots of fire. only we didn't do that right away. we just claimed one of the fire pits and sat around it on towels. and for a while, we had food but no way to cook and eat it. ^_^;; so we sent some of our people away to get cookable/grillable food, as well as a grill and tools to cook/grill it all. ...and then the rest of us were kinda bored.
this is where balloons come in. one of our number whipped out a bag of balloons and was like "i wanna make a balloon animal. i wanna make a poodle." so he starts trying to do that, but he fails at life and all things, so it didn't work out for him too good. someone else started messing around with the balloons too, only she totally won and was able to make a whole buncha fun stuff with the balloons! she made a poodle, and a sword, and a flower, and a whole mess of other stuff as the day went on. i have now dubbed her the Balloon Princess. :P
she made a buncha swords, and it was our intention to sword fight with them. and we took pictures of us raising 'em up into the air and yelling "ARRRRRRR" but the wind made the swords look weak and flimsy (which they were). XD
so it was us crazy asians and our balloons, filthying up the beach after we'd cleaned it. oh well!
eventually we were able to eat, but we were also still making balloons. some of us were reading... i'm almost done with The Amber Spyglass. :P now that i think about it, i'm really amazed at how quickly time passed. one of my friends laid a blanket over a pit, hoping to trick somebody to fall into it, but nobody did. so he just lied down in the pit and was like, "okay guys, bury me." so we did, and we tried to lay it on really thick so it'd be hard for him to get out. and amazingly, building up the sand thick and firm enough took us the better part of an hour (maybe a little more, but i dunno). and somewhere in that hour, the sun went back into hiding. which is kinda sad 'cause that's when people arrived to go boogie boarding in the water.
our friend emerges from the sand (with difficulty! SUCCESS!) and we all go off to wade in the surf. i did not appreciate having the hem of my shorts get licked by the water. boo. but the water was really really cold and it felt kinda nice. :) we took a bunch of pictures of us jumping into the air near the water... then we tried to imitate the Pirates 3 poster, with us all "emerging" from the water and walking epicly toward the camera with the gray sky behind us... i don't think that worked out too good, but it was nice trying. :P
on that note, i went back to look for the balloon swords so that we could have a pirate fight. and my sister and i fought. we wanted to try to reenact the huge three way fight sequence from PotC2, but we didn't have a third sword (not anymore... the others had deflated or popped or otherwise vanished by that point, so there were only 2 left). so it turned into... uhh... just a weird little sword fight between wannabe pirates. a pink sword, matching her shirt, and a red one, matching mine. that was actually coincidence, i'd been looking for my blue sword. or the white one. but alas. so anyways, my sister eventually stabbed me and won, which made me sad, so i stabbed her back when she turned around and my balloon sword popped as i did so. and that made me sad, too. >_< ARRR. curse her skinny limbs! her protruding vertebra destroyed me sword!
i think it was now that we started to play with fire. because the wind was cold. and a bunch of us ended up huddling around the fire's warmth, eating chocolate and marshmallows and smores. i couldn't make a smore because my marshmallows kept getting burnt. like, really weirdly. kinda freaked me out. :P one of my other friends set his marshmallows on fire, just to see, i guess. ^_^;;
then people started to filter away, after we all dogpiled on top of somebody and had tickle wars... and the Balloon Princess was inspired to make a balloon penguin, so she did. it was amazing. :P with a little more training practice, she could utilize those skillz to get a job at the DLR! it'd be fun to go to Disneyland and be like "MAKE US A BICYCLE!" (which they did try to make at some point XD). yaaaaay, fun times!
so we left the beach at 7pm. at which time the sun had decided to make a reappearance. it sent us off.. and the boogie-boarders cursed it for not coming out sooner. :P
someday, maybe, we'll go back to Dockweiler beach. 'twas fun! XD
....... i think my nose got burned. XP
ouch, my wallet
May. 19th, 2007 08:45 pmouch, my bank account.
i have to spend about $200 for my laptop's repairings... but i think it'll be worth it. while my sister's mac is quite cool in its way, i'm just not used to it... and i miss my laptop and all its anime fun-ness. :)
and... all things considered, it was a pretty damn good deal, money-wise. i had actually been expecting to lose almost $400 for repairs. so... i'm relatively pleased. :)
in other news, i'm currently reading the Amber Spyglass, book 3 of the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. this has been a long time coming... i mean, i started reading the series in like, 5th grade. and the library didn't have the last book, which upset me, so i never got to finish it. i'd even completely forgotten about it until i saw the set in the bookstore in CalState, and then i found out about the movie coming out in December and i just thought, "well, i'd better finish the series off then." so i bought the set, and i am thoroughly enjoying the 3rd book. it's interesting to me how everything just starts coming back to me in a wild, heady rush. it's insane! i love it. :D
these books are, to me, as Harry Potter has been for most other people. it goes without saying... that i'm excited for it.
(deep sigh) it's been a good day... though it started out with waking up very early and i just really desperately wanted to go back to sleep and not go anywhere... but we had to go to this sports thing that my church holds every now and again, and it actually turned out being a lot of fun jumping around and screaming our lungs out for our team, even if we were losing half of the events. :P it's all about attitude, y'know? be positive! ... Keep Moving Forward! (hehe, i had to say it)
after that, my nephew turned 1 year old today, so we went to his little birthday party! HE'S SO ADORABLE. half-asian half-caucasian babies are sooooo cute. he just has the chubbiest little cheeks and the cutest little baby smile, and he was so sleepy staring at his cake (as he continuously scooped bits of it up into his hands)... *squeal*
and i dimly realized that it's been quite a while since i last saw any of my family. so that was fun! and we were all watching this show and getting really hyped up about it... does anybody watch Ninja Warrior on G4?? it's crazy!! those people are like, L337 N1NJ4 SKILLZ. hence being on the show... it's a japanese show, where a bunch of people (separate divisions for men and women, though) set off to prove how awesomely ninja they are. IT'S NUTS!! it was a marathon today, too, we couldn't move away from the TV!! it was awesome!!
we left eventually, stealing away some foodstuffs as we did so. and now... i am home. :) and i'm sleepy and content, and life is good. ooh ooh, AND! my friend Christine is gonna pass by LA to see me before she boards a plane for the Philippines. so i'm really excited to see her! i haven't seen her in over a year now. XP
and i'm happy. and spent. XD

and... all things considered, it was a pretty damn good deal, money-wise. i had actually been expecting to lose almost $400 for repairs. so... i'm relatively pleased. :)
in other news, i'm currently reading the Amber Spyglass, book 3 of the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. this has been a long time coming... i mean, i started reading the series in like, 5th grade. and the library didn't have the last book, which upset me, so i never got to finish it. i'd even completely forgotten about it until i saw the set in the bookstore in CalState, and then i found out about the movie coming out in December and i just thought, "well, i'd better finish the series off then." so i bought the set, and i am thoroughly enjoying the 3rd book. it's interesting to me how everything just starts coming back to me in a wild, heady rush. it's insane! i love it. :D
these books are, to me, as Harry Potter has been for most other people. it goes without saying... that i'm excited for it.
XP
and i'm happy. and spent. XD
so the mission to Chapman was a total success. i got to hang out with Chapmanites for an extended period of time and finish watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. it was loads of fun being with them, as usual, because i honestly think they're some of the coolest people i'll ever know. :D
so Thursday = Anime Club, which is fun times all around. XD followed by accompanying Jared and Caitlin and Amy (aka new presidents of Anime Plus Club) to their awesomely decorated dorm room (oh wait, it is not Jared's room, too). the initial plan was to catch up on Naruto Shippuuden. that ended up with us having to wait for the newer episode to download. but in the mean time we watched awesomely silly videos on YouTube and enjoying the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged Series. and by the way, that is frikkin' awesome, even though i... do not so much enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh at all. but those videos are irresistable. XD
we end up doing that until like, 3AM. then we all died from sleepy sleepiness. Chapmanites had class and exams and whatnot. so i killed time watching more Abridged Yu-Gi-Oh 'cause it's hilarious. "my breasts challenge you to a duel!" "check his pulse, Yugi!"
Friday = hanging out-ness. lots of it. and we watched The Black Cauldron, Disney's black sheep movie. IT WAS COOL! i guess i can understand why they keep it so... on the down low... but i really liked it! it was very dark and action packed, but the quality of animation was actually incredibly good. and The Black Cauldron is apparently the technically more official holder of the title "first (Disney) animated movie to use computers." so yes. i liked it. :)
and then there was still more love for Disney to be had, because there was a big showing of Meet the Robinsons (love!) on the grass in front of Memorial Hall. we got as far as Dr. Kruncklehorn's first appearance before the sprinklers turned on and made us flee to the sidelines. but since we stayed, we decided not to cancel the movie. we tried moving so that we were sitting on the steps of the hall, but then we found out that we couldn't do that. so we moved to a classroom, and it was good.
i think i've seen MTR like... a million times now... but i still love it to pieces. XD i still laugh at all my favorite parts. and seriously, my favorite failed time machine prototype is #212. i just wonder how on earth it got reduced to glowing, green, radioactive mush in a beaker. XD
argh, i'm tired right now, so this is as much as i'll say... gotta be brief. more details when i wake up... >_<

"...the clouds are burning."
May. 9th, 2007 08:53 aminitiating attack procedures *reload!*
*grabs up campus crashing equipment and parachute, then boards plane bound for Chapman University*
so... i have a plan. hopefully all will go well, in the event of which i will successfully drop in on Chapman. if not... then i'll be a greasy smear on the pavement.
*please do not take this literally*
either way... i'm finding a way. i already contacted my accomplice. unfortunately, the walkie-talkie isn't quite as instantly two-way as i'd like it to be (damn you, facebook!). will try again later, hopefully with more success (AIM is a much better alternative, i think).
until then, friends. *does awkward salute*
....
so in other news! the giant hill mountainside park thing across the river from my apartment building was aflame all of last night. :P i wonder if people in the Orange County area heard about it. the Griffith Park fire? yeah, that's like, right where i live. it was weird going home and seeing this giant pillar of brown smoke blotting out the sun. and that was still at like, 4 PM for me.
when my sister came home she was like "should we be leaving??" and we went back outside, and the entire mountain was on fire. it was like a volcano! and all the orange flames were like rivers of lava! we checked it out on TV, too, but it didn't look as bad. i mean, on TV we could see how far it all stretched, but it still looked more like it was just a smouldering heap of magma. in person you could really see the 40 foot flames! it was really intense!! i felt really bad for all the people who live right on the mountainside. i mean, we're across the river, so we're safe. but all those guys had to be evacuated out of their homes.
and apparently the fire raged all through the night. this morning that main road, Los Feliz, was completely closed off and my sister and i were forced to find an alternate route. part of me wondered if i ought to stay home and not go to school. that could just be the laziness talking... i dunno. but i thought it'd be kinda funny if they didn't let anyone in our area go anywhere for the day. i wonder when that fire will be completely doused... it's gonna be another hot one today... well, if a fire starts up again later, there's really nothing left for it to burn, so it shouldn't be too bad. XD
okay, i know i'm bad for making light of the situation, but i can't help it. it just feels kinda surreal.
and in more random news... i'm too tired to go to Japanese class today. i'm sure missing one class wouldn't have a really drastic effect on my grade or anything.

weehee!! so i got to watch Meet the Robinsons again, this time with Chapmanites! and i wore the Wilbur T-shirt of doom. because Wilbur is still my favorite, and he still rules the world. :D heehee! oh, so much fun! i could watch that movie over and over again and not get tired of it. you always notice new things with every next run through. like DOR-15. that was cute, i'd never noticed it before. :P
but anyways, yes! i was able to journey down to Chapman for a fun-filled afternoon with buddies. :D i went and hung out with Chelsea and Jane, just talkin and chillin and i showed them what Jane called my "opus", which is really just my Kingdom Hearts video to almost the entire soundtrack for the 50th Anniversary Disneyland fireworks "Remember... Dreams Come True." hehe, it's an amazingly long video. 15 minutes! i'd put it up on YouTube, but then i'd have to split it into at least 2 parts. bah. hassle. XP
after hangin with them for a little while, Chelsea and i went to meet up with Amy and Caitlin for the movie (Jane was feeling too under the weather to come). heehee, i'm just really glad that Chelsea and Amy (neither of whom had seen it before) enjoyed it. :D my sister having a job at Disney has just totally rubbed off on me in the sense that i feel like i need to know that people liked it. after the movie, we sat in the theater for a while just talking and laughing about it (haha, Chelsea and Tom Selleck!! XD), and when my sister's name appeared in the credits we were all like "oooh" at first, and then started going "someday that could be my name up there, somewhere." must break into entertainment industry somehow. XD
so after that, we were hungry, so we got pizza. because pizza was calling our names. :P except Amy's, 'cause she had apparently eaten already. since the pizza was gonna take a while to finish baking or cooking or whatever you call the process of making pizza, we wandered. we wandered to Hot Topic. and Caitlin discovered an awesome Naruto jacket in the clearance section (along with the actual Naruto jacket, now apparently $31). she promptly decided she'd buy it. hehe, i admit that i was jealous of it - it's a very cool jacket - and fortunately, we were able to find another one. awesomeness! so i bought that one. i really like it! XD
ooh, and we saw a dude in the store with Sasuke hair. like.. seriously. we're thinking he did his hair up like that on purpose... but still, that was mad. it was amazingly well done. :P
we went back for our pizza and began to eat it. it was huge. i've never seen a 20" pizza sitting in front of me before that. flippin' awesome. XD we talked about all sorts of random stuff (Meet the Robinsons, time travel, what makes a good kids movie, what makes a good kids show, bad cartoons, good cartoons, Rocko's Modern Life and Angry Beavers, voice actors, Thundercats bloopers, etc etc) while eating, and there was much laughter to be had. incredibly enjoyable dinner times! :D
and we had an amusing time trying to find a way to dispose of the 20" pizza box. it wouldn't fit into any normal trash cans! so Chelsea punched it until we could bend it in half and then forced it into a bin. then made a break for it. XD
from there we went to Borders and drooled over the manga stock. actually, everybody bought something but me. i.. couldn't decide. i already felt a little guilty from buying the awesome Naruto jacket, but i reeeeeeeally did wanna buy something (so much FMA! Death Note! even Kare Kano!)... i just couldn't pick only one from amidst the masses. so in the end, i bought nothing.
then it was back to dorms, where we watched a comedian magician on Comedy Central. i have no idea what his name was, but he was hilarious! XD haha, and we ended up just watching him until i had to leave. 'twas most unfortunate, i had wanted to see the beginning of Shaun of the Dead! and the original plan for all of us retreating to Chelsea's room was to play with her Wiiiiiiii... but that flew out the window pretty quick when we saw that comedian.
*deep, contented sigh* so, i dunno about everybody else, but i'm really happy right now. :) even though my throat's a little dry from all the laughter. heehee... i've really gotta find ways to get to Chapman more often. i love everybody over there! they're all so much fun! CSULA's so boring... XP
