so i got to go to the Mickey Halloween Party at Disneyland yesterday!!

best day to go EVER. seriously.

because it was pretty much raining all day long. so getting to run around the park in full costume with a wig that's completely spiked up and out while hairspray killing water kept falling out of the sky on it?  was awesome. and i'm only half being sarcastic. xD

the day started out simple enough. i had work in the morning until 1, and after that i headed over to Fluffy and AyaToki's place via the Gold Line (i have now officially gone on every railway system in Los Angeles except the Purple Line, but that's almost the same as the Red Line so screw it xD). i was laughing 'cause their house is literally right by it. but yeah, that part of the day was interesting... i was more or less already in my costume, just so that i'd be saving myself the hassle of completely changing into it when i got to their place. it just needed a few extra things, like the wig and the bandages and the tattoo/scar combo on the right arm. AyaToki got changed into Russel Tringham America, Fluffy DID NOTHING, and then we were off!

we're almost certain that people going down the freeway near us were staring at the BRIGHT BLUE HAIR on my head. but WHATEVER GUYS. MOVE ALONG, NOTHING TO SEE.

and yeah, the weather at this point? while i was at work, it had been raining a little bit, off and on. it stopped raining by the time i was off, and then when i got to the sisters' place it was SO SUNNY AND WARM. we were all like "wtf, this weather." and then as we were driving down the freeway things went from sunny... to cloudy... to drizzling. by the time we got to Disneyland, it was sprinkling. we had to wait for Jen and Bruce at the trams, so we did. got sprinkled on some more in the meantime. and i actually got recognized!! the chick mixed the name up at first and was all "DEATH STAR!" at me. apparently i'm the Death Star. :3 that's kind of cool.

so Jen shows up in her Hungary cosplay (she's so adorable in it!) and then we board the tram. and literally, 15 seconds after we get on the tram? it starts POURING. and our contingency plan for rain wasn't... so good... mine was to just mostly get wet. ^_^;; I HAD AN UMBRELLA but yeah.

first thing we do when we get into the park was go running into the nearest indoor place, which was the Abe Lincoln thing. which was actually kinda cool for a number of reasons: 1) it was dry there. 2) America got to take some nice patriotic pictures. 3) Hungary got to take some pretty pictures. and we were apparently waiting for more people to join us in the park anyway, so we thought that'd be a good place to do it. i hung around and watched the 50 Years of Magic video that had been in that theater, and while i was standing there watching, this old guy walked by, staring at my hair, and went "that's beautiful." i... didn't really know what to do so i just laughed and thanked him. funny old man. :3

so once more people arrived (one carrying $700 worth of photography gear-- which was pretty damn awesome in its own way) we set out again. and this time the rain had lessened significantly. we trusted it enough to forego the umbrellas for a bit, anyway. and this is where ADVENTURE BEGAN.

we were there at 3, and the Halloween party stuff didn't start until 6, so we had time to just. run around Disneyland in costume. so naturally, we hit up as many rides as we could. Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion... we started the ride hopping late, so by the time we got out of Haunted Mansion some of the Halloween stuff was set up...

... i feel like this story needs pictures. i shall wait until i get them to tell the rest. xP

okay first of all? Easter is... such a confusing holiday to me. i guess that probably just stems from the fact that i wasn't raised to celebrate it in any shape or form. all i know is that it has something to do with chocolates, eggs, and bunnies, and that it used to have something to do with Jesus. and apparently that lent thing, the 40 days of giving up something awesome, is related to easter.

LOOKIT ME, I'M LEARNING. 8D

...... also, i'm bored. you know what that means??

I'M DRAGGIN' Y'ALL DOWN WITH ME.

'twas my mother's birthday yesterday. and we took her to Disneyland. :)

okay okay, so. morning. left Walnut at around 9:15, got to the park at 10ish - we wanted to be there earlier 'cause we had priority seating scheduled for 9:50 at the Plaza Inn, the violently pink, really delicious chicken place near Main Street. we got in even if we were a little late, which was cool because duuuuude breakfast there was awesome! characters everywhere!!

so first we see Eeyore on our way in... he didn't see us just then, but yeah, we saw him. he's so adorable, lemme tell you. then we saw Captain Hook, but he was like, talking to other people. i had half a mind to stand and just salute at him until he noticed and came over to greet us... but i'm shy. :P but Dale attacked us while we were eating. he came up from behind and started ruffling me and my sister's hair up like crazy and we were both like "WAAAAH WHO'S DOING THAT?!" but we love Dale, and we took a picture with him, our hair all messed up as it was. and we told him that it was our mom's birthday, so he goes over and sits next to her and... they started playing. or something. it was cute, because it was our mom, and we've never seen her more like a little kid. XD

after Dale, i believe Tigger came over and attacked us in a similar manner. but we have the nicest picture with him, and i totally adore that stuffed tiger now. he started trying to put my sister's sunglasses back on over her face, which resulted in her hair getting all over the place but was really funny to watch. XD after Tigger was Minnie, who didn't do anything like that, but she was really sweet to us and took a nice pic with my mom. then we assaulted Capt Hook, since he wouldn't come over to our table. me and my sister each took a picture with him, making hook gestures with our fingers, and that was fun. one of the servers nearby seemed to be very amused by our antics. ^_^

and then there was Eeyore. okay. i need to get more Eeyore stuff. he comes over, and he's so cute with his sad little face and his long ears and just - just - *squeal*. and... well, since i was advertising the DVD release of Meet the Robinsons and had all this MTR gear all over me (hat, shirt, bag)... it was amazing, because he recognized it. Eeyore pointed at the logo on my shirt, and the logo on my hat and bag, and clapped!! i was so excited!! XD but then he pointed at himself and gave us this questioning look (funny as that sounds, believe me, it was a questioning look on that big face of his), and we were just like "awww, i'm sorry, we don't have any Eeyore stuff." almost immediately we felt bad because, well, he started crying. i blame my sister - she has Eeyore stuff, she just didn't wear/bring any of it with us. then again, we never imagined we'd meet Eeyore. but we promised him that next time we'd come with Eeyore stuff, hugged him, took more pictures, and then adored him some more as he left.

so that was brunch. oh yeah, the food was good, too. :P

and oh, just as a note: my mom made me grab her a pink balloon before we left the Plaza Inn. she tied it to the handle of her purse and... it pretty much stayed with her all day. the Balloon was surprisingly durable. i actually think it's still alive somewhere in our apartment...

but anyways, we didn't go on too many rides (this is my mom we're taking, after all). we passed by the Finding Nemo lake, just to see what it looked like. it's nice not having to bump into that long Finding Nemo "Coming Summer 2007" wall of DOOM there... i'd almost forgotten what that area looked like. ^_^ then we took our mom to the princess fair, just to check out because she loves the princesses. stayed there for a while and then headed over to Frontierland. we hopped onto the Mark Twain and gaped at Pirate Island from afar - managed to sneak a peek at the great Capt Jack Sparrow, caught him on film and everything, and that was exciting. then we went to go watch Billy Hill & the Hillbillies perform (such a funny show, for those of you who've never seen it. it's in the Golden Horseshoe, we went to the 1pm showing) and thoroughly enjoyed that, clapping and singing and laughing our hearts out. :D from there we went on Pirates, since my mom hadn't seen Jack in there until then, and after that we managed to convince her to let us go on Indy. that was just... a must. honestly. and the fact that the Balloon survived Indy and Pirates continues to amaze us.

after Indy we sorta rushed to get back to Main Street to watch the Parade of Dreams (amazingly, that all lasted until 3:15 precisely). my mom loved the parade, me and my sister beamed happily. and then i saw the Ratatouille window. it's a really cute window, with Linguini teetering around the room, blindfolded, Remy on his head and pulling at his hair. but... it's just that...

*sigh* okay. i know i shouldn't feel like it's a competition or anything, 'cause Pixar and Disney are allies. but still... it made me really sad to realize that... Meet the Robinsons didn't get a window like that. i looked around some more.. not even a tiny little time machine hovering in the corner of one of the older displays!

Meet the Robinsons kinda got the short end of the stick, when i stopped to think about it. i saw Emile, Remy the Rat's brother, over in New Orleans Square from the Pirates line, which my sister and i immediately decided made total sense. and Ratatouille's been getting a lot of great publicity, which i'm glad for. it's #1 on the charts! i mean, it beat Die Hard, of all things. but i just felt so horrible for Meet the Robinsons. they don't even get to be in Tomorrowland, WHERE THEY BELONG. i mean.. WHAT?! WHY NOT?!?! it just makes me so sad to see Ratatouille everywhere, all over the park, all over the stores... and where had Meet the Robinsons gone? TT_TT i weep. i, in my Wilbur T-shirt, weep.

though it does mean that MTR gets this great little cult following. XD

back on track. we went to California Adventure after the parade, 'cause we wanted to take our mom to the Aladdin musical, but that had... well, something happened to it, so we couldn't. that made us sad... so we just went into the animation building to see if we could find any MTR displays. 'lo and behold, we did! next to one for Ratatouille and another for Wall-E (Pixar 2008, looks really cute), but ah well. took pictures with that, and also of the little Carl concept art that had found a place between Abbi from Chicken Little and the Genie. that was exciting. :P then we went over to Soarin' Over California, 'cause everyone loves that ride in all its simplicity and wonder (and it was highly entertaining watching my mom stuff the Balloon into the pouch under the seat XP). saw Lightning McQueen and Mater (GAH?! once again, where are my MTR boys at?!) on the way there. i had no idea you could see them at all... but anyways, very nearly missed the Block Party, which we had every intention of letting our mom see because she loves dancing and music and stuff. but we made it there somehow, and that was lots of fun times.

after that we sorta just.. chilled for a while, waiting, because we had priority seating at the... Vineyard Tor-something or other, restaurant place. ... we don't know the DCA that well, we have yet to explore it in its entirety. :P but anyways, that food was yummy too, and then from there we went on these little tours of a bakery (Colin Mochrie and Rosie O'Donnel were the video tour guides for some reason!) and a tortilla factory ("MESACAAA..."), which were pretty cool in themselves. :P and after that, we found our spot facing the pier and just.. relaxed.

we stared across the water at what we could see of Ariel's Grotto and sort of spied on the few princesses that went through. we saw Belle, Cinderella, Aurora (who also saw us as she was leaving and waved, which really caught us off guard), and Snow White. ... we wanted to see Ariel. because apparently that's the only place in the DLR where she appears AS A HUMAN. it never ceased to amaze me why on earth they didn't want Ariel wandering the park on two legs 'cause, i mean, she became human at the end of the movie! ... well, sadly, we didn't see her. i resolve to, though. someday. somehow.

so then we caught the Electric Parade, 'cause it's a classic, and then followed the throng of people back to DL to see the fireworks. it was actually quite impressive, because literally, the second we started walking down Main Street, the lights went out and the show started. XD so our mom watched and loved that. we left after i got a cup of hot choco, but i was severely depressed that i was unable to get a churro before leaving. the churro cart that's usually near the exit vanished into thin air. i was crushed.

we left the park, but i demanded that we go into the World of Disney store to make up for my lack of sugary churro goodness. i bought this adorable Jack Sparrow Mickey Mouse Ears hat of love. no one dared tell me not to. bwaha. beware of kara with no sugar (though you should be equally aware of kara with too much sugar, if not more). my mom got these cute Disney mugs for her and my dad, a thermos for herself, and another thermos for Boring Sister That Deigned Not to Join Us that's got Maleficent on it and says "I'm WICKED. ...what's your excuse?" on it. my mom has one with Mickey saying "I'm on Vacation. ...what's your excuse?"

scoured the store for MTR stuff. only found the games, the soundtrack, and the artbook. no plushies or anything, which once again makes me very very sad. *snff* but then i remembered my Jack Sparrow Ears and i became a little happier. my mom asked me later while we were on the tram where i thought i'd ever wear it, and i just looked back at her very seriously and said, "....... pirate parties." ...not sure myself what a pirate party is, though i'm sure it involves lots of pirates and piratey things (ooh, actually, we decided that our first pirate party will be when the 3rd movie comes out on DVD and we marathon them). so that's what i'll wear it to. mmhmm. *solemn nod*

and that was the Disneyland Trip, July 2, 2007. :D fun times!

.. next time i go, i'm definitely going on the Finding Nemo sub.
hikaranko: (Default)

as an early celebration for my sister's birthday, we hopped aboard a cruise ship bound for mexico.

O_O

it was a really... big... boat.

so first of all, the rooms were damn nice. even though i had to sleep on a big pull out shelf with a mattress and blankets on it (that made me frikkin' nervous, i was always afraid it was gonna fall). but it was really nice, and every time we came back for dinner there was a set of towels on the bed folded up to look like an animal. first night it was a walrus, then a dog, then an elephant. frikkin' awesome. XD

anyways, ginormous boat. free food. free food all day long, and i think that was my sister Katherine's favorite part of the whole thing. 24 hour pizza *squeal* and the dessert we had every night after dinner - warm chocolate melting cake - OMG YUM. i could've died happy every night for love of that stuff. the food was always good. seriously. yummy yummies all the time.

and the boat was crawling with filipinos. XD like, almost every staff and crew member we interacted with turned out to be filipino. and there was this band in one of the bar places... they were all filipino, and on 2 nights we went to listen to them play ('cause they are really good. one song you've gotta be able to play on the guitar in order to be awesome is definitely Bohemian Rhapsody, just for that crazy guitar solo right before the funny part) and both times they went over to talk to us. the 2nd night we saw them, me and my sisters got to pose on stage with their instruments (i got the lead guitar! *squeeeeeeeeeeal*). waaaaaaaah, awesomeness!

oh yeah, and there was Mexico. we were only on land for all of... 4 or 5 hours. XD we did this "Taste of Mexico" thing, where we were basically taken around Ensanada (the city we were at) to see the sites, hear some history, and then finally, cook up some authentic mexican food. we made salsa, which turned into guacamoli, and then chicken tamales and... oh crap, it was called, um... to... tort... crap, i can't remember. i'm pretty sure the word "torta" was in it, not tortilla obviously, but OH! TOSTADA! i was way off... ^_^;; so that's what we ate. and for "dessert" they made us dance for a little while. the dance instructor was really cute... *blushes fiercely* okay, moving on.

on the boat we did a lot of exploring. there was a big pool on the top deck, and my sisters laid out on stretch bench things there because they wanted to tan. ... it was really hot.  after a while i got frustrated and went back to the room, where it was cooler, and i read.  i suffered very badly from internet withdrawal (booo, the addiction... i blame the RP!! XD), and my dad eventually showed me a little bit of kindness and allowed me a quick fix at the internet cafe. ^_^;;

um... so in a nutshell and out of order, that's pretty much how the cruise went. :P it was fun, overall. disembarking wasn't happy because of all the customs and immigration and whatnot... but that's to be expected when one travels, no?

back on land... my mom bought a tiny Toshiba laptop and my computer is on the road to being fixed. my dad keeps trying to come up with crazy alternative "solutions." like: (in the store) "let's buy this Toshiba laptop, since it's only $500, and then remove its monitor and put it into your computer. then we can get a separate monitor for this computer, and that'll be your new desktop computer. well? what do you think?" uhh... that costs an unnecessary extra $200-$300... and no one would use the desktop if we all have laptops... -_-;; my dad is very bizarre.

but anyways, yeah. hopefully, things'll all work out.

and one final message...

Happy Birthday, Kristina!!!
Love ya!!

*does the amazingly happy happy dance* SCHOOOOOOOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!

and so now, there is VACATIONS to be had, and this is going to be awesome. :) though... well, with my parents here, they're gonna wanna do a lot of stuff that is very likely to frustrate me one way or another. but i'm still gonna try to make the best of it. my sister scheduled some kinda weirdo cruise for us to go on this weekend, so i will be gone and in Mexico or something for a couple days. should be back on Tuesday or something.

but blaaargh. it's not exactly something i'm really psyched about or even just looking forward to. maybe that makes me weird, but i'm just not the sort of person that likes traveling for the sake of traveling. like, i wanna go to Japan to shop and see stuff and feel like a lost anime character. Mexico... holds nothing of interest for me. my sister also wants to go to Europe this summer, and while i think that's kinda cool or whatever, it's still kinda like... i don't mind if we don't go, either. (that's mostly a lot of walking and sight seeing, i think... not too crazy about that. what would we actually do there apart from pose in front of big historical landmarks and take pictures?) what can i say? i like staying home to do just short of nothing.

in other news... there are quite a few of us in my church... that want to go to AX. XD so we're all trying to figure something out, and one of my friends is like "you wanna dress up?? we gotta start working on costumes now if we're gonna dress up!" and i'm like "AAAAAH BUT WHAT WILL WE WEAR?!" (said exactly like that, btw XP) we also don't know what day we'd go... most likely Saturday. ...i still have to convince my parents to let me. dammit. :P baaahhhh, let me have my fun, parents, you forced me into Mexico!!

outside of all that...
*ahem* so... yeah, that's about it. yaaaay for summer times!!

GASP. I WILL HAVE TIME FOR VIDEO GAMES! so many RPGs yet to finish! *dances*
hikaranko: (Default)
so yesterday, i was at the beach.

to be honest, i really should've stayed home to like, study for finals or work on my ecorche or write my sociology paper... but going to the beach promised to be so much more fun. and what can i say? i like having fun. it takes priority in my life over like, everything else. so... buwahaha. :P

so yes! beach. it was actually this um, clean-up thing that we were doing with a bunch of people from our church. just something we wanted to do. so like, we had this Heal The Beach rep telling us the do's and don'ts of cleaning the beach. you know... if you find a needle (a syringe) in the sand, don't pick it up, call a lifeguard ('cause they don't want us getting diseeeeeeased)... if you find a dead animal, don't touch it, call a lifeguard and they'll call the animal people (once again: diseeeeeease)... pick up as much trash as you can and whoever has the most full bags wins. :P so we set out!! and this goes on from... 9 in the morning to 11 in the morning. :) yaaaaay! and then once we're done with that, the funstuffs begins!

it was very peculiar to us that it was like, immensely cloudy in the morning, but then once we were done the sun started to come out. and stayed out for quite a while. :P

so then we trek to a different part of the beach where you're allowed to play with lots of fire. only we didn't do that right away. we just claimed one of the fire pits and sat around it on towels. and for a while, we had food but no way to cook and eat it. ^_^;; so we sent some of our people away to get cookable/grillable food, as well as a grill and tools to cook/grill it all. ...and then the rest of us were kinda bored.

this is where balloons come in. one of our number whipped out a bag of balloons and was like "i wanna make a balloon animal. i wanna make a poodle." so he starts trying to do that, but he fails at life and all things, so it didn't work out for him too good. someone else started messing around with the balloons too, only she totally won and was able to make a whole buncha fun stuff with the balloons! she made a poodle, and a sword, and a flower, and a whole mess of other stuff as the day went on. i have now dubbed her the Balloon Princess. :P
she made a buncha swords, and it was our intention to sword fight with them. and we took pictures of us raising 'em up into the air and yelling "ARRRRRRR" but the wind made the swords look weak and flimsy (which they were). XD

so it was us crazy asians and our balloons, filthying up the beach after we'd cleaned it. oh well!

eventually we were able to eat, but we were also still making balloons. some of us were reading... i'm almost done with The Amber Spyglass. :P now that i think about it, i'm really amazed at how quickly time passed. one of my friends laid a blanket over a pit, hoping to trick somebody to fall into it, but nobody did. so he just lied down in the pit and was like, "okay guys, bury me." so we did, and we tried to lay it on really thick so it'd be hard for him to get out. and amazingly, building up the sand thick and firm enough took us the better part of an hour (maybe a little more, but i dunno). and somewhere in that hour, the sun went back into hiding. which is kinda sad 'cause that's when people arrived to go boogie boarding in the water.

our friend emerges from the sand (with difficulty! SUCCESS!) and we all go off to wade in the surf. i did not appreciate having the hem of my shorts get licked by the water. boo. but the water was really really cold and it felt kinda nice. :) we took a bunch of pictures of us jumping into the air near the water... then we tried to imitate the Pirates 3 poster, with us all "emerging" from the water and walking epicly toward the camera with the gray sky behind us... i don't think that worked out too good, but it was nice trying. :P

on that note, i went back to look for the balloon swords so that we could have a pirate fight. and my sister and i fought. we wanted to try to reenact the huge three way fight sequence from PotC2, but we didn't have a third sword (not anymore... the others had deflated or popped or otherwise vanished by that point, so there were only 2 left). so it turned into... uhh... just a weird little sword fight between wannabe pirates. a pink sword, matching her shirt, and a red one, matching mine. that was actually coincidence, i'd been looking for my blue sword. or the white one. but alas. so anyways, my sister eventually stabbed me and won, which made me sad, so i stabbed her back when she turned around and my balloon sword popped as i did so. and that made me sad, too. >_< ARRR. curse her skinny limbs! her protruding vertebra destroyed me sword!

i think it was now that we started to play with fire. because the wind was cold. and a bunch of us ended up huddling around the fire's warmth, eating chocolate and marshmallows and smores. i couldn't make a smore because my marshmallows kept getting burnt. like, really weirdly. kinda freaked me out. :P one of my other friends set his marshmallows on fire, just to see, i guess. ^_^;;

then people started to filter away, after we all dogpiled on top of somebody and had tickle wars... and the Balloon Princess was inspired to make a balloon penguin, so she did. it was amazing. :P with a little more training practice, she could utilize those skillz to get a job at the DLR! it'd be fun to go to Disneyland and be like "MAKE US A BICYCLE!" (which they did try to make at some point XD). yaaaaay, fun times!

so we left the beach at 7pm. at which time the sun had decided to make a reappearance. it sent us off.. and the boogie-boarders cursed it for not coming out sooner. :P

someday, maybe, we'll go back to Dockweiler beach. 'twas fun! XD

....... i think my nose got burned. XP
hikaranko: (mischief)
as always, my family holds to the belief that vacation is the time when you have to be out of the house every single hour of every single day. especially since my cousins who have never ever been to the Philippines in their lives ever arrived. we very much feel the need to show them around, which is no easy task considering the fact that Manila traffic has the amazing ability to turn what could be a 20 minute drive into a 2 hour trip. bah. but it's not too bad since we get to shop a lot with all the going out-ness, but it can quickly turn bad when the mothers hover around a single shop/stall for a good half hour, end up buying nothing, walk three feet, and then stop for another half hour at the shop/stall right next to the other one. repeat.

us kids get very weary of the pattern. but they don't let us off to our own business. i'm so craving a trip to an arcade. i need to arcade.

though i did buy a lot of video games. i now have Final Fantasy XII, Tales of the Abyss (ADDICTED TO THIS LIEK WHOA), .hack//G.U. (cannot play this properly yet until i finish Tales of the Abyss... same VA for the main characters, it confuses me), Devil May Cry 3, Psychonauts (can't play yet, need new memory card), Okami, Magna Carta (most complicated battle system ever), Wild Arms 4, Fullmetal Alchemist: Curse of the Crimson Elixir (i tried to convince myself not to get it but before i knew it i was paying... i'm such a fangirl.. *sigh*), and Battle Stadium D.O.N. (which is AWESOME because i love crossovers! it's Dragonball vs One Piece vs Naruto!!! wheeee!!! *dances*). so all that should keep me busy for the next... six months? maybe a year if school continues to plague me with its hassling-ness. crazy addicted, though. overwhelming gamerness right there.

but yeah, loads and loads of things distracting my brain from all sorts of things. between hanging out with my cousins and playing all those video games, my mind has little else to think about.

oh... and... one last thing. hehe... my cousins are making me learn this dance. we're trying to perform it at this Christmas/reunion party we're having... it's quite funny. it's gonna be so embarrassing. XD

this is one of those experiences that could very well turn me off to flying for the rest of my life, but... i'm just gonna hafta live with it, huh? -_-;;

anyways... flight to Manila didn't quite get off on the right foot. i mean, all the check-in stuff was fine, so hooray. said bye to the sisters and then went off to the gate. they were already boarding people when i got there (i found out later it was only the elite/business class/first class, but whatever, i stood there waiting anyway) which was weird 'cause the flight wasn't supposed to leave for another hour or so. i probably got on the plane at about 8:30.

so i sat there... and y'know, waited. the plane started to taxi around by around 9, so that was cool... all according to schedule and whatnot. so i figure it's safe to zone out.  i pull out my book (first Harry Potter book, actually) and start to read. now, i have no idea how long i was reading before i realized that something that was supposed to be happening was not happening.  but i eventually realize that the plane has stopped taxing... we'd been stopped for a while... but we were apparently not taking off.  i simply cursed the airline for being slow like that and decide that it's time to start napping. so i nap.

i'm not sure how long i was napping. i think it had been about two hours. but when i woke up, we still had not moved. we were still not in the air. people were out of their seats and standing in the aisles, talking to each other. it seemed quite clear that we were not gonna take off for a while yet. the pilot comes onto the little intercom thingy and announces that the part has been ordered and is on its way. from this statement, i can only guess that some piece of the plane had suddenly gone missing, or faulty, or something... and i have no idea why they didn't notice this before they let people board, but... bah. whatever.

here i decide that it's safe to turn on my phone. i discover that it is past midnight, which means that my flight was insanely delayed, which means that i need to call my sisters and my mom to let them all know. i think another hour passed before the pilot comes on again and tells us that the part is about to arrive, meaning we'll soon be clear to finally take off into the sky, but we're gonna hafta taxi back to the terminal and everybody's gotta get off the damn plane.

...

i'm guessing that, as an apology, they gave us free drinks and potato chips.

yay.

but i'm still upset that my plane has been delayed for more than 4 hours. so everybody's sitting at the gate again, eating Lays and drinking soda while the new part gets installed into the plane. they made us get new boarding passes. we boarded again at about 2am. finally took off at around 3.

6 hour delay.

and immense difficulty sleeping.

makes for an overall bad trip.

the in-flight movies were... well, i have mixed feelings. see... there was some Filipino movie about this guy and this girl, and their moms are best friends and they arranged for the two of them to get married. and then the moms fight because the girl got mad at the guy and the wedding plans got shot, or something. he really liked her, though... oh, and get this, their names were "Lucky Boy" and "Lucky Girl." seriously. i kid you not. that's some screwed up parents, right there. but anyways, that movie went really weird and i totally didn't understand why the last half was suddenly centered on the moms hating on each other... bah.
they also showed that damn movie... Miami Vice. good grief. i've already ranted about that one, i won't do it again.

but to balance all that out... they also showed Superman Returns. which i gladly watched. :) highlight of my trip, seeing Superman rescue all the people on that plane. and seeing Brandon Routh in Superman uniform. he has lovely blue eyes. :D

but all in all... pretty damn bad trip. this bastard guy in front of me always had his head in the way of the screen and kept making his seat (and consequently my little table thing) shake... couldn't get a whole lotta sleep 'cause i had nowhere to lean and my neck was hurting for some reason.

at least i finished reading the entire Harry Potter book. XP

anyways... quite tired now... and looking to shower soon. so i'm gonna stop the rambling here. catch ya on the flip side!
