first of all... i should not be sitting at my computer in a wig just for kicks, because that's... just odd of me. but whatever.

SECONDLY!! i feel like my life has suddenly exploded with activity. i've been able to hang on to my on-campus school job, despite having graduated last spring, so i can't even begin to talk about how frikkin' awesome that is. i mean, sure it's barely more than minimum wage, but income is income and i can't complain. but in addition to that job, what was once an internship officially turned into an odd sort of part-time job, but with the way things are running at that tiny little start-up film company at the moment, it's actually threatening to become a full-fledged full-time job! which, needless to say, WOULD MAKE ME SO HAPPY. i do have my complaints about what i do there and what it's like, but i'm hoping that'll all change once more money comes in and we're employed full-time.

but not only that? my sister, who works as some... immigration thing in DC (idek, i just know she gets lots of money for it :|) called me the other day asking if she could hire me to animate something for her. and i'm not sure, but i think my eyes bugged right out of my head when i heard her say that. the job itself sounds fairly simple and straightforward, and i'm sure i could totally do it if set my mind to it. so yeah, now i'm just waiting on her to give me exact info so i get to it. :D

ANOTHER THING. i got to see Back to the Future in the theater over the weekend. :D and as a huge BttF nerd, let me tell you, IT WAS AWESOME. tickets were sold out the day of, some people came in costume - we actually saw a real fucking delorean in the fucking parking lot. I WANTED IT. though me and my sister were like "...i'm not used to seeing it without all the stuff on the back o.o" i also saw some guy in the full Marty McFly outfit, orange lifevest, denim jacket and everything. and then some other people with the multi-colored 2015 hats! so YEAH. NERDS UNITE.

but seriously, it was awesome to see it on the big screen. i mean, that NEVER happens. except it apparently does for the 25th anniversary of the nerdiest, greatest movie OF ALL TIME. they even gave out posters after the screening, and you can bet that i grabbed several :| i gave one to my boyfriend as apology for him miss it, but still. SEVERAL.

... also i swear i'll get to updating the Disneyland thing. i'm waiting on pictures. :(

finally have time to recover from the two massive family gathering/parties that were being held. currently listening to that_kid's g33k sh0w. hehehe, fun stuff. :P

so i guess the non-stop party started Saturday evening when friends of my aunt and miscellaneous relatives (all of whom are much older than myself) began to filter into the house. apparently, they had all decided they were going to play mahjongg. just because they can. :P so i was expecting to see a maximum of five people come in, since mahjongg is a four player game. boy, was i ever wrong. seemed to me like someone spread some false rumor that a party was being thrown. by about 10 o'clock, the house was filled with lots of random people. i'm not sure i knew every face that i saw. there were like, two groups of mahjongg players, a karaoke group, and a group of people who just sat and watched TV.

i spent the better part of the evening in my cousin's room, watching FMA. i'm pushing him to finish the anime so i have an excuse to download the movie to my hard drive to twist and manipulate into AMVs. XD we didn't get to finish, though, because the internet seemed to be choking on something, so he went to sleep and i went back upstairs to hide in my hole from the prying eyes of my aunt and uncle's random friends. my sister and i winced at some of the karaoke singing... distracted myself by reading more fanfics.

it was then that i heard them. the voices... of small children.

i almost had a panic attack. it was very strange for me to be hearing the voices of children in the house, because it was past 12, and even though it was a saturday night, i highly doubt that most parents would still take their children around to parties at that time. and yet, there were small children in the house. i didn't wanna be caught by my aunt or uncle, so i poked my head out the door and stared, wide-eyed with horror, at my PS2. obviously it was the target. and i just had to be sure that, at the very least, my memory card and the precious files within it were safe from abuse. it was kinda hard to tell, though, so i stayed huddled at the door until i could make sure.

much to my relief, they did not play Narutimate. but to my absolute horror, they played Kingdom Hearts. this shocked me at first, and i realized that somewhere deep down i should be happy because KH is such an awesome game, but... i dunno... could've been me having some kinda super possessive... thing... over my copy of KH... so i kinda... obsessively watched them play for the first 10 some minutes, making sure nothing happened. i stopped when the kid took too long to pick between the sword, shield, and staff. decided to just go to sleep.

party part 2: lunch at someone's house. somebody's birthday.

turned out to be my cousin's 6th birthday, so off we went! yaaaaay, free food! XD we went, and i went straight to find the small cousins and hang out with them. they were playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. and for some very bizarre reason, they had started out with 99 lives. ... i arrived at life 90. we watched them for a while, wondering when the madness would end. my cousin and SSBM rival arrived when they were at about life 70. we then took over, beating each other senseless for a while. then we got bored and decided to speed the game up by killing ourselves until we were down to a life each, and then fought again.

the day was filled with lots of SSBM, actually. we played for several hours at a time, between eating and the occassional switch to the PS2 and the boxing game it offered. just before dinner, we started playing in teams. my cousin and his little sister made a killer team. they were really just... WHOA. my other cousin was watching around then and decided to play as well. he teamed up with me. it became our mission to WIN. we were obsessed. it just wasn't fair! they were such a good team! and then they were Mario and Luigi, both in green (which confused us because then they both looked like Luigi). i played as Roy, best foot forward, while my cousin switched between the characters in search of his best fit. we must have lost to the Mario bros about 15 times (grr!!). but we kept at it, refusing to stop until we won at least once.

the effort was long and consisted of a lot of shouting and rage... but we finally won!! YAAAAY!!!! the teams were Green Team: Mario + Luigi vs Red Team: Roy + Marth. oh yes. it was beautiful. after we won once we ate dinner, and then played again, just to be sure that it wasn't a fluke. we managed to win again, and we decided that we rock. XD

after that there was more karaoke singing that we sorta watched, and then we left the birthday party. rented some videos at the store and then came home. and... i am still listening to the geek show (12:10 AM now). XD i'm probably gonna go to sleep in a little while, though... it's a very funny show, though. the topics just kinda drift, and it's all good fun. am now debating whether or not i should read chapter 56 of the FMA manga, thus ending the FMA manga overdose (oh the gore! the drama! OH the madness and inhumanity of it all!!!). hmm... i shall save that enjoyment for another time.

okay, that's... about all for now. i'm still swelling with pride over today's SSBM victory. which just goes to show how much of a geek i really am. XD

yaaaaay, geeks!
